Randomness!

Okay, I did this once before and a friend recently did this on her blog (which reminded me about the time I did it before...). I'm going to randomly choose a photo file and photo, post it, then tell you about it... here goes File 47, picture 18... Oh! It's my nephew Cole! This picture was taken at the Triathlon in Kamas in September 2008. Shalyn, Dan, Jonathan, and Nolan participated. Dan won his age group. Jonathan won the boys youth division. Shalyn and Nolan both placed in their categories. Cole, Zane, Avery, Aly, Leslie, and I were the cheerleading section. Fast forward 7 months... Coley is currently 4 days pacifier free! Aly hit the "I've had it point" the other day with Cole and his "throw the pacifier out of the crib & scream until mommy gets it for me" game and she made him quit his pacifier addiction cold turkey! He's done remarkable well (except for that first pacifier-free nap). The most amazing thing/change since Cole was kicked off the pacifier is that he is so verbal now... his mouth is on the go... yack, yackity, yack.

Baby, Baby Suck Your Toe

... all the way to Mexico! I don't remember the rest of the jump-roping chant though. Miles is six months old today! Not only is he a thumb sucker, but he also sucks his big toe!
At six months old, my Chunky Monkey likes rolling over, bouncing up and down, sticking his tongue out, making croaking frog sounds, drinking water out of a cup (and squirt bottle), and "chewing" Cheerios (no teeth yet!).

Dan's Prank on Nolan, Part 1

Dan got Nolan good... make sure you watch both video clips, this one and the one in the next post. Sorry the video is sideways...

Dan's Prank on Nolan, part 2

Dinner Revisited

Dinner went over well! Jonathan knew, based on past years, that something was up. He was a good sport and ate everything. Nolan, well, he had a bite of everything, except for the dirt, and declared himself done. Dan cleaned his plate as well.

Tonight's Dinner

Call me Mrs. Planning ahead, but tonight's dinner is done! Tonight for dinner we are having "fish sticks", "peas", "mashed potatoes and gravy", "hamburgers", and "dirt". Why all the foods in quotation marks? Well, it's April Fool's Day so we are having an "April Fool's Day" variation on those foods. The "peas" are green apple Airheads rolled into balls. The "mashed potatoes and gravy" are vanilla ice cream and caramel sauce. The "fish sticks" are vanilla sugar wafer cookies coated with peanut butter then rolled in crushed corn flakes. The "hamburgers" are cookies with sesame seeds for a bun, a York peppermint patty for the meat, dyed green coconut for lettuce, and red and yellow frosting for ketchup and mustard. "Dirt" is chocolate pudding with gummy worms, topped with crushed chocolate graham crackers and served in a pot. Hopefully the boys will have fun with their dinner tonight and realize that for dinner I am serving them junk- cookies, candy, and ice cream!
